Aside from playing composed pieces and accompaniments and improvising within different scales and note sets, how do you use the barred instruments? What are possibilities for further musical development? How can we use them to explore form and carefully select timbres that produce a magical effect?

Elemental Vibe focuses on pieces using different bar set-ups and modes and meters, assisting with mallet and performance technique, and giving examples and options for using barred percussion with students. Most pieces are intended for intermediate or advanced students, but the concepts can be adapted for younger students. All pieces allow for creativity in terms of improvisation, composition or movement.
